1. UK to Istanbul
Fly to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines from London, Birmingham or Manchester where you will be collected by one of our drivers and taken to the hotel of your choice (

2. Istanbul
Choose whether to spend the day exploring independently or book a sight-seeing tour through our informative local representative, perhaps a city tour or a Bosphorus Cruise.
3. Istanbul
Another day to explore this fascinating city at leisure, whether you choose to haggle in the renowned Grand Bazaar or discover the jewels of the Sultans at Topkapi Palace.
4. Istanbul to Cappadocia
You will be picked up from your hotel to take a domestic flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel (see facing page for sample hotels).
5. Cappadocia - Fairy Chimneys & Göreme
We will pick you up in an air-conditioned minibus for a full day tour which includes a visit to the Devrent Valley to see the unique ‘fairy chimneys’ and takes in the Monks’ Valley, Göreme Open Air Museum and the citadel of Üçhisar.
6. Cappadocia - Rock churches & troglodyte cities
Another full day tour includes Red Valley to see the rock churches; the underground city of Kaymakli, where the early Christians escaped persecution and the natural castle of Ortahisar.
7. Cappadocia
Either, take a full day tour to visit the underground city of Derinkuyu, carved out of the rock by the early Christians, continuing to the beautiful rock churches of the Ihlara Valley. Or, take an amazing hot air balloon flight soaring over the unique scenery at up to 1500 feet.
8. Cappadocia to your chosen coastal resort
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Dalaman or Antalya (via Istanbul) depending on your chosen seaside resort (

Transfer to Dalaman, Izmir or Antalya airport for your flight back to the UK (via Istanbul).

Highlights of the tour:
Despite ample time for sightseeing in Istanbul and relaxation in a coastal resort of your choice, the real highlight is the time spent in Cappadocia, a unique landscape of fairy chimneys and otherworldly rock formations, underneath which lie subterranean cities and underground cave churches. The soft volcanic stone, which covers the region, has been eroded over aeons to create the mystic shapes known as ‘fairy chimneys’. Once the heart of the Hittite Empire, Cappadocia’s first inhabitants discovered that the stone could easily be carved to form dwellings. Later, the early Christians hollowed out underground churches, which they decorated with elaborate frescoes, and troglodyte cities, in which they hid from persecution.
