This tour presents an excellent opportunity to see some of Turkey’s most iconic sites, without having to do any driving yourself. It starts in Istanbul and then takes in the stunning landscape, troglodyte cities and rock churches of Cappadocia before heading south-east to the magnificent stone heads of Mount Nemrut and the biblical city of Harran.

1. UK to Istanbul
Fly to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines from London, Birmingham or Manchester where you will be collected by one of our drivers and taken to the hotel of your choice.

2. Istanbul
Either explore independently or book a tour through our local representative, such as a city tour or a Bosphorus cruise.

3. Istanbul
Choose to explore independently, do some shopping or book a tour through our local representative.

4. Istanbul to Cappadocia
Fly from Istanbul to Cappadocia where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

5. Cappadocia
You will be picked up in an air-conditioned minibus to join a full day tour which takes in the Devrent Valley with its unique ‘fairy chimneys’, together with the Monks’ Valley, Göreme Open Air Museum and the citadel of Üçhisar.

6. Cappadocia
The second full day tour includes Red Valley to see the rock churches, the undergound city of Kaymakli where the early Christians escaped persecution and the natural castle of Ortahisar.

7. Adiyaman
You will be picked up by minibus to join a small group guided tour, heading first to Adiyaman (Mondays and Thursdays only).

8. Mount Nemrut
An early start to watch the sun rise over Mount Nemrut with its monumental stone heads, part of its magnificent tomb and temple complex. Visit Arsaemia, capital opf the Commagene Kingdom, a tumulus on Karakus Hill and Cendere bridge before continuing to Sanliurfa.

9. Sanliurfa
Explore the ancient city of Sanliurfa and the Halil Rahman Mosque with its pool of sacred carp. You will also visit the ancient Mesopotamian city of Harran, with its earthern mud huts and remains of a palace and mosque. Return to Cappadocia.

10. Cappadocia to UK
Fly back to the UK (via Istanbul)

4* (or 3* where 4* is not available) accommodation on either HB or B&B basis (depending on hotel); scheduled flights (incl meal & drinks) from London, Manchester or Birmingham; and all the tours detailed above.

Please note that tours to South East Turkey only depart on Mondays and Thursdays from Cappadocia. Therefore, we advise you to depart from UK on Tuesdays and Fridays to fit above tour.
