This makes it a paradise for birds with over 100 species, including the Tyto Alba, a barn owl that has become the symbol of Belek.
Turkey’s rich history has left behind plenty of treasures to explore in the area. These include the Greco- Roman city of Perge and the magnificent theatre of Aspendos, seating up to 15,000 people. It is the best-preserved theatre in Asia Minor, and the setting for many concerts, including the famous Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival which takes place in early summer.
The town of Antalya with its charming harbour and old town is approximately 45 minutes drive away to the west of Belek. Turkey’s beautiful Manavgat Waterfalls and the ancient town of Side, with its impressive beachfront amphitheatre are to the east.
