Approached by a winding mountain road, leading up into the hills from Içmeler, you begin the descent down, twisting and turning through the fragrant pine trees until the bay of Turunç is spread out in front of you. Still little more than a large village nestling in the shade of the hills, with a crescent-shaped swathe of dark sand and shingle beach to the fore facing the turquoise waters of the South Aegean.
