Oualidia holidays have gained popularity over the years with discerning French holidaymakers and in-the-know locals and with good reason!
The beach here is the main draw: a sweep of fine, golden sand fringing a calm, sheltered salt-water lagoon. It's easy to do absolutely nothing during your holidays in Oualidia but swim, sunbathe and relax as the tide gently ebbs and flows. If you do manage to summon up the energy, however, there are some excellent coastal walks to be enjoyed in the resort's vicinity. Look out for pink flamingos, storks and tern, among the species that populate its wetlands. The area is famed for its mouth-watering seafood, and in particular the oysters which are farmed locally and inexpensive. The best place to sample them is to try one of the handful of restaurants along the main street.
Those choosing Oualidia holidays will find nightlife is low-key, although the months of July and August are somewhat livelier as that is when most tourists visit this otherwise sleepy village. Travel in May, June or October and, incredibly, you'll have the place almost to yourselves.
