Sarigerme used to be the name of the beach, but gradually the name of the village, Osmaniye, seems to have become secondary and the resort has simply become known as Sarigerme. It is not surprising really, as any holiday to Sarigerme is all about the stunning beach - a long stretch of soft, golden sand. On the beach you will find water sports, sunbeds and a shady wooded picnic area. If a fabulous beach is high on your wish list then Sarigerme holidays will fit the bill perfectly and this lovely resort is suited to couples and families alike. Particularly attractive for families is the location, because it is only around 20 minutes transfer from Dalaman Airport.
Sarigerme itself is a tiny village, consisting of just the one street. This has shops, bars and restaurants as well as a chemist and a post office, and it gives you a fascinating insight into traditional Turkish village life. There is a small market in Sarigerme on Sundays and although this is worth a visit, if you want to experience the atmosphere of a real local market you are probably better off heading to Mugla on a Thursday, where you will see where the locals stock up on fruit, vegetables and spices.

Or, why not take a boat trip from the wide bay to visit the beautiful 12 islands, this is a very popular excursion with those that love swimming, don't forget to take your snorkel! Dalyan, with its beautiful river estuary and stunning Turtle beach is just 30 minutes drive away, and from here you can also visit the popular Dalyan mud baths. There is plenty to do on days out - assuming, that is, that you actually feel the need to leave Sarigerme behind.
