Yalikavak is set on the north-west coast of the Bodrum peninsula, it was once the region's main sponge-fishing port and in recent years many of the old stone buildings in the village have been restored to their former glory. Being so close to Bodrum, it only takes around 40 minutes to transfer from the airport, but it is truly a world away in atmosphere.
